Chester,
I feel the same way and share your general paranoia
Fortunately, Eluma provides a great method for backup (to a local file) and recovery if something is accidentally lost or deleted. See the instruction below for backup up and restoring your bookmarks and feeds.
Backing up your Bookmarks and Feeds
- In Eluma, click More > Settings
- In the General Tab, click Export Bookmarks and Feeds
- Select HTML or OPML format.
- Click Browse, and navigate to a folder you want to save the backup file to. Enter a file name. Click OK to close Export window.
- Click OK to close settings.
Restoring your bookmarks and feeds
This part is written assuming you have access to your Eluma login but have lost or deleted objects from your collections.
- Create an empty folder in your Personal Collections. Call it something like "import".
- Click More > Import Bookmarks and Feeds.
- Select your empty import folder from the dropdown. IMPORTANT: if you dont select a folder for the import, it will put all of the imported objects in the root of Personal Collections.
- Check the box labeled "Import bookmarks from HTML or OPML files"
- Click Browse and locate the backup file you wish to restore.
- Click OK to start import.
Now the imported bookmarks and feeds will be in your folder you created. The objects will have all of the HTML descriptions, tags, and ratings that you gave the original objeccts. The imported bookmarks can be dragged into an ailing collection to return it to its former glory.
How's that for peace of mind?
